WNDR3400V2 (RN600) router - wireless repeating with Arris Wifi Modem

In order to boost the signal on the desired location, run a long ethernet cable from the modem to the NETGEAR router.
Again, there's no way for these 2 devices to be wirelessly connected to each other.

Hello Belljon
Welcome to the community!
Your best bet to configure this is only through wired connection.
There's no way that these 2 devices you have will communicate wirelessly.
You will have to run a long ethernet cable to connect them together.
Or another option is to setup the modem as a regular modem, disable its wifi capability and then configure the NETGEAR router to work with the modem and buy an extender to boost the wireless signal on that room. You may want to see our wide selection of extenders from this link.

Thank you for the answer. I was under the impresison that the N600 could be used as a repeater/extender but you are saying this is not possible? So the options are to increase cable length or get a booster for the Netgear. What about using it as a different network but connected wirelessly to the wifi modem?

In order for the modem and NETGEAR router to be connected wirelessly, they should both have WDS capability.
Which most modems doesn't have. WDS is an old feature where you can set the router to be in repeater mode but then it will give you less wireless security.
WNDR3400v2 has that WDS feature but then the modem doesn't have so it will not work.
Regarding the different network, can you elaborate further on how you want to achieve it?

Thanks for that. At the moment, my Netgear is connected to the Arris via ethernet cable. So I am currently using the Netgear connection - but the Arris is available as well to connect to directly via my wifi network options.
Am I then able to connect the Netgear wirelessly (similarly asI have it now, just wireless) to the Arris in the weaker area of the house - and then connect to the Netgear connection in that part and the Arris connection in the other? Dont know if this makes any sense.... : )
