In order to boost the signal on the desired location, run a long ethernet cable from the modem to the NETGEAR router.
Again, there's no way for these 2 devices to be wirelessly connected to each other.

Thanks for that. At the moment, my Netgear is connected to the Arris via ethernet cable. So I am currently using the Netgear connection - but the Arris is available as well to connect to directly via my wifi network options.
Am I then able to connect the Netgear wirelessly (similarly asI have it now, just wireless) to the Arris in the weaker area of the house - and then connect to the Netgear connection in that part and the Arris connection in the other? Dont know if this makes any sense.... : )
