Basically the only other thing we'd recomend would be the manual update followed by a factory reset and clean install (not using a backup configuration).
A couple reasons for both.
1. A manual update done over a hardwired in pc/laptop tends to actual have less issues with corrupt firmware then using the app or auto-update process in my experience on the forums. Fairly simple to do as well.
2. Something might have gotten corrupt in the firmware or settings. which is why we'd recommend changing firmware and the factory reset. You might not have done anything but heat as well as time is the ultimate killer of electronics. the newer things get, the more sensitive they are to degrading/going bad. So corrupted firmware or settings could be the culprit. Not saying they are.
And the wndr3400 was made in 2014. So its got a little time/usage on it.
If you don't want to try those options, then you might be SOL and need to look for a new router.
Which is why you aren't out anything to try those options.
