WNDR3700 Netgear N600 Router

I'm trying to switch from an unlimited internet provider to one that limits my data usage. How do I check how much data I am using monthly?

    Turn on traffic metering at ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > Traffic Meter.

I had to do a factory reset, when I go on my cell phone to settings/wifi the name comes up, ask for password, so since I had to do a factory reset I used password, but it doesn't connect
