WNDR3700 slower than it used to be?

Just wondering if there is anything else to try? Already rebooted everything, etc.  Firmware Version
V1.0.0.42_1.0.33. What's funny is, that's the latest firmware on Netgear's website, and it's from 2017. That's the firmware I have. Just wondering.

When I stream to firestick is hiccups on movies and never used to. Thanks

  • I'm not surprised they're slowing than 4g/5g speeds.

that router was great when it was released but that was a long time ago before 4k and video services that adapted to your speeds.

Its time to give it the farewell and upgrade.

As microchip8 says, you have a very old router. It dates back to 2009. That makes it a teenager.

There have been three or four, possibly more, generations of wifi technology since then.

Your subject says, " slower than it used to be". How fast did it used to be? How fast is it now?

And what re you measuring. Wifi speed? Ethernet speed?Internet speed?

Thanks for the replies. The DL speeds on wifi are good but any iphone, Android or tablet they load websites slow or firestick hiccups when streaming movies. It's just strange as the speed tests on wifi are good but when loading websites etc on devices they load slower than 4G/LTE.
