WNDR3800 Firmware download from Netgear is corrupt-please fix

PS: If you are _not_ relying solely on your vast experience and
expertise, but, instead, are actually following some set of
instructions, then please let the non-psychics in your audience know
what they are, and where you found them.PPS: Indignation is often more effective (and less silly-looking)
when accompanied by useful information, including answers to relevant
questions which have already been asked. And after the relevant
documentation has been consulted.
The responses I got from 2017 about downloading software via the Network Genie to get Firmware that is not corrupt: when I try to download Genie is says "NETGEARGenie-ins...exe can't be downloaded securely". Chrome says "We think it might be a malicious, unwanted, or uncommon file". All descriptions of each via Chrome are bad enough that I don't want to download it.
