What speeds are you getting?
it might be indeed time to upgrade as thats an 8 year old device and a couple generations behind on technologies.

Here are a few download speeds for my devices: 50-75 Mbps on my personal XPS13. Around 20-40 Mbps on my Nintendo Switch. And around 30-50Mbps on my Iphone XR. Upload speeds for all seem consistent at around 20 Mbps.
And yeah the router is quite old. Just wanted to make sure there was nothing left to do to solve the issue before fully replacing it.

Seems to be right around where it was tested at depending if you're on 2.4ghz/5ghz and how many antennas your devices is using. Its has a 3x3 antenna array for 5ghz but most devices only have 1x1 or 2x2 antenna's internally.
I'd be looking at upgrading
