WNDR4300 - WAN speed drops when going through router

I've just had my internet provider out to check the lines and they are getting the 50mbps as promised, but once I hook the router up, I am only seeing about 10mbps.  I honestly don't know where to start troubleshooting the issue and would like some guidance on how to move forward.
