wndr4300 no wireless in linux mint
i just installed linux mint on my thinkpad laptop & discovered I have no internet unless I plug in the cable. I also have win7 on it & it will work wireless, no cable. Anyone know the routine...

using mint 17.3 cinnamon.
it started working.
i think it takes a bit longer to establish conn than cable.

i suspect missing drivers is the case but so far no luck finding them
i'd be interested to know if the combo of lenovo thinkpad + netgear +linux is a nogo as far as wireless is comcerned.
I'm beginning tio get that impression.

Feb 17, 2016The problem isn't netgear (this time) you should take this up with your wifi card manufacture. Before changing OS it's a good idea to be sure your hardware is supported by checking for drivers.
Good Luck!

well, it started working in ubuntu 14.04 so i know it works with at least one linux distro.
the bad news is i don't know why.
a little wireless network window popped up & i clicked it & entered pw & it connected.
hopefully ill be as lucky with mint. they are similar.

You don't happen to use Linux Mint DE, do you?
Since that mint distro is based from debian edition and not ubuntu which might be the case of difference.
