WNDR4300v2 having issues with my HP Slate 7 1800 tablet.

My WNDR4300v2 router works on all my computers and LG cellphone, but having issues with my HP Slate 7" model 1800 tablet. THe tablet does recognize my router's address, but instead of connecting directly wirelessly at 2.4 Ghz, on the tablet's settings (using Android 4.1), the message says "Authenticating..." to "Saved" , and then back to Authenticating, then saved continually, and the wifi symbol at the top of the tablet is showing no bars like it's off. Any solutions?  Reset the router? My Motorola Surfboard modem is working fine. Any help is appreciated.  Thank you.
