The "gateway" term usually describes a modem/router, often with a phone socket. Without know what the "modem" is, it is hard to know which of the three box on your network is working as the router. Ideally you should have only one.
If the modem really is just a modem, then your Eero "gateway" is probably designed to run as a router. The two ethernet ports are there to connect you to the modem while the other one lets you plug in the rest of your network. (If you need to connect more than one device to the Eero, then a dumb switch is the way to go.)
This bit is also puzzling.
The current connection is: Modem -> (port1) Eero (port2) -> Netgear WNDR4700. The ethernet from Eero is connected to Ethernet port 1 of WNDR4700 (not the Internet port). Another ethernet cable in port 2 is connected to the laptop. Readyshare is not working. When I put \\readyshare in windows explorer, get the error "windows cannot access \\readyshare".
If the Eero has two Ethernet ports and one is connected to the modem, add the WNDR4700 and the laptop and we get up to three connections.
By default, the WNDR4700 wants to be a router. To plug that into another router (the Eero?) then you should put it into wireless access point (AP) mode and then connect it to the Eero.

Readyshare works in AP mode. You can even use the spare LAN ports on the WNDR4700 devices to connect other hardware.
The WNDR4700 is a strange and ancient (2014) device that has a built in hard disk. Being that old, the wifi will be several generations behind the most recent. The Eero is probably a lot better, so you probably want to turn off the wifi from the WNDR4700.

Yes there is a Hitron modem which is just a modem. One port of Eero is plugged into Hitron modem. second port of Eero is plugged into WNDR4700 ethernet port. The laptop is connected to the ethernet port on WNDR4700, not to Eero.
The wifi on WNDR4700 is turned off.
I'll check and work on putting the WNDR4700 in AP mode and see how it goes.

michaelkenward the solution to put the router into AP mode worked. Now I am able to connect the router to my new network and all devices are able to see the Readyshare NAS. I also found that any external USB drives connected to the Centria USB ports are also visible on the network. This is working more than expected.
