WNR2000 Renamed and Unsecured Suddenly
This may have been asked already. This morning woke up with no internet. Previously had name and password for my wireless router. When internet finally came back on, my router was reset to NETGEAR, no password. A little bit disturbing since I am not tech saavy. No solarwinds going on here.
From other posts, I figured out how to log on and check my log. Results below. Can anyone tell me why my router name and password (security) disappeared? What do I do secure it for real?
thanks, AS

1. those are the logs of a modem. the WNR2000 is a router only. It doesn't have an integrated modem. Not sure what these logs are from exactly.
2. The router might have gotten reset. It wouldn't be the first time a power surge or something caused a router to factory reset. You should just be able to reinstall the router.

Thank you for answering my question. I'm sure you're right about the log. Will reinstall the router. Feel better about this being a common occurance.

Somehow it reset back to defaults. The older routers do not have a default password so it goes back to unsecure wifi until you set a password and decide what your wifi should be called. Looks like you have to do the setup over.
