Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
The WNR2000 is 15 years old (2009). You don't say what else is on your network. You can't just slap a router on to a network with its own router and expect it to behave. Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local problems with addresses on your network. Among other things, the other router can misdirect traffic to addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual default IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.
This explains some of the other drawbacks.

Then again, the wifi from the WNR2000 is many generations behind the latest and has LAN ports limited to 100 Mbps. It is probably best sent to the great recycling bin in the sky.
Just another user with time on their hands.

The earlier routers can be finicky when setting up. Go to your router's manual and follow the initial setup instructions TO THE LETTER (ie connect it directly to the cable model to set it up first).
