The wired devices are Windows 10 and connect through the Nighthawk, are recognized with a green LED and connect to the internet just fine. When I added the AC1200 Smart Wifi Router, it also connected with a green LED and the network was accessable however internet was not accessable, even after using the 'Setup Genie'. After several resets of both modem and router, including both at the same time, I got nowhere and called tech support.

This statement is whats going to make me question you. Do you have other devices connected to the cm1150v other than the router?

If so, thats more than likely whats causing your issue. The cm1150v isn't a router. its a modem only. And the vast majority of ISP's only assign 1 public IP address. Meaning that only 1 device can be connected to the modem at a time. That 1 device can use wan port aggregation (the R6220 doesn't have this feature) to reach speeds >1gig but it can't have more than 1 device connected.

Again, this is if your isp doesn't support more than 1 public ip address. And thats the majority of them.

If you connected your pc to it, that public ip address is being assigned to the pc and not to the router.

    so try this.

Disconnect all the devices from the cm1150v, power it off and the router off.

power on the cm1150v. give it several minutes to fully boot.

connect port 1 of the modem to the wan port of the r6220

power on the router. give it several minutes to fully boot.

    try to setup/us the router.
