Work VPN Connection C3700

Trying to connect to work VPN from my apartment. Work IT did all they could but said portals are being blocked by my network. I don't know how to fix that so VPN will connect. Netgear Wifi cable motem router C3700

    I see no one has replied to your question yet as I have the same issue. Hopefully someone will give us the answers we're looking for. Would hate to buy another if not needed...
