Wrong Name in Notification Area

My network (SSID) has one name, but in the notification area the name ORBI56 appears.  How do I get the notification area to display the correct name?

  • To assist bringing this question to the appropriate community section, what Orbi model (and firmware version) are we facing here?

Somewhat vague is what notification are you are talking about. Could this be the Windows 10 Wireless where the on-air SSIDs show up? Are the wireless clients able to connect to to the SSID configured? Does this affect all areas WiFi covered by the Orbi systems?

      Model is RBR750

      Firmware version is V.3.2.16.6_1.4.4

When I say notification area I mean on my desktop, lower right corner of windows 10 screen where you see speaker icon, etc. I'm connected to router directly, not WiFi and when I hover on network icon, it reads ORBI56 and not the name of my network. Other WiFi devices read correctly, it's only this  desktop connected to router with an Ethernet cable. If I switch to wireless, it reads correctly. Everything works fine, I just want the correct name used.

I just upgraded to this system from an earlier ORBI, which had the correct name. Do I need to reset everything and Re-install?

      How can I fix it?

What would you say that your "the name of my network" is?

        > [...] Other WiFi devices read correctly, [...]

Elaborate on "correctly".  What is this name for those devices?

        > [...] I just want the correct name used.

Which would be what, exactly?  And where is that name found?
