2.5G port Is it 2.5 synchronous or 2.5 down 1 gig up

Prett Self-explanatory Was offered an upgrade on my fiber optic internet to 2 GB synchronous. I'd like to know if the 2.5 gig port is only 2.5 gigs down 1 gig up or does it support 2.5 gigs synchronous.
