Why is it that when I select my 5G it says it is out of range when my router is right underneath my device

The control you shown this has not fixed anything - as it does not change anything on the router configuration.
We're always keen to learn however.

Sorry but this is my model number. My router channel only goes up to 11

So far you have mentiponed R6700v2 and R6700. They are not the same. Diofferent hatrdware that needs different firwnmare.

That is a channel for 2.4 GHz wifi, as schumaku says. It has nothing to do with 5 GHz wifi.
Any devices you own that don't support 5 GHz will see only the 2.4 GHz.
We still do not know what you are trying to connect to what. Unless you have changed it, they need to connect to a wifi source that has the Netgear81 SSID shown on the label on your router.
