401 Unauthorized

Question

I have a problem with both&nbsp; of my routers.&nbsp; netgear rax 40 and netgear r7500.when I visit a website it does not matter if it is on a phone,laptop, android or whatever.&nbsp;I some time get this message 401. this message can me on any website.401 UnauthorizedAccess to this resource is denied, your client has not supplied the correct authentication.&nbsp;It does not matter whatever platform it is&nbsp; this message wil show and it wil not go away.&nbsp;How do i fix this issue. i have tried to flush my dns on laptop, but this stil happen.my ISP has check the signal inn to my house and they said everything i alright.the r7500 is aprox. 1 year old.&nbsp; And the rax 40 is maybe 2 week.And the signal of the wifi&nbsp; becomes very slow.&nbsp;both have the latest firmware acording to the netgear router when i try to update them.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.This explains some of the other drawbacks.What is Double NAT? | Answer | NETGEAR SupportThe C7500 is also a modem/router. If you have all three on the network, then you are piling on the problem.

Hi thank for the replyI am not using the router together only one at a time. It is like a reserve if one of them dies. When one is in use the other is packed away.When this problem began to happen to the r7500 then I bought the rax and the same problem was there.I have tried to reset it many time but the same problem happes afteraprox 12 hours.

It is not as straightforward as you might think to switch between routers. You can't just unplug one router and stick in another one.

Are you rebooting the whole network when you do this? And doing it in the correct order?

As this is a router, there is probably a modem sitting in front of it. You need to get the devices to forget any inherited settings. Among other things, that means rebooting the network.Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
