You're going to want something that supports wisp mode. The R6700 doesn't.
You'll want to look at a travel router. GL-iNet makes pretty solid routers that some have support for wisp mode.
Hi. Xfinity has a feature which creates hotspots on their subscribers’ modems. I can have access to such a hotspot by utilizing my son’s Xfinity credentials elsewhere, which works.
Since I’m on a hotspot, I’m exposed to anyone who also has access to that hotspot. I want to limit my exposure and figured if I can use a Netgear 6700v2 (of which, I own,) to log into the Xfinity hotspot and have my devices obtain WiFi from the Netgear. I assume if it can be done, then I would have some amount of protection. Can it be done? I’m not sure of the mode.
