AC1200 C6230 Modem/Router Drops Internet Several TImes per Day, Have to Restart

Thanks for the response. I just moved into this house I'm renting at the beginning of September. There is only one cable in the house, my desk is right next to it. No splitters or anything else on the cable line, which is buried in the wall. The modem is as close to the cable as is possible. My main device is a desktop computer, and I run an ethernet cable from the modem/router directly into the computer. The only other active device is my phone, which is on the WiFi signal. When the Internet cuts out both the computer and phone drop the internet connection, so it's impacting the WiFi and ethernet the same way. Your power levels look pretty spot on.
You can get some t3/t4 errors when its first booting/connecting and you have that.
And you don't have any errors. If this was booted up yesterday and your not showing errors and just the bootup t3/t4, it'd keep watching it until you get the errors, then log in and get the logs/signal connections.
Sometimes it can be an intermittent issue. I had a guy that only had issues when the wind was blowing to hard because it'd blow his coax cable (run overhead) into some trees and a hole had worn into the cable.
but so far the signal doesn't look to bad. Who's your isp?
Could be them pushing for docsis 3.1......
My provider is Xfinity/Comcast. The modem they rent out is a 3.1, my modem/router is Docsis 3.0. Could that be the issue? I bought the modem/router myself. I can still return the modem/router but only have a few more days before I'm stuck with it. Should I buy a 3.1 docsis modem/router? I don't really know what the difference is between 3.0 and 3.1, could you offer a brief explanation? Thanks again for your help :)
Docsis 3.1 has higher throughput and more ISP's are requiring it for decent speeds. For examply, cox recently started pushing it for speed tiers over 150mbps. There's a bunch more info than that but quick google search can go into details.

If it was me? I'd return it and buy a docsis 3.1 modem only device. Then I'd buy a router.
the combo devices firmware is controlled by the isp and there isn't much for troubleshooting to see if its a modem issue versus a router issue. It tends to have a higher upfront cost (for same specs devices) but leaves you in control of your firmware as well as allows you to upgrade just 1 piece of it if you're needing improved speeds. but it is a significant cost increase going from docsis 3.0 equipment to docsis 3.1
Is that whats causing the problem though? Tough to really know.
An option worth trying?
Return the C6230 and rent xfinity's modem/router device for a month. Might cost you $10-20. But if it works well, then you know the line is fine and can look around for a docsis 3.1 device. If it doesn't work well, xfinity can't blame the device because if 2x 3rd party devices had issues and so does theirs, then it doesn't leave much besides the line.
That's a great idea, I think I'll rent theirs for a month and see if that fixes it first. Thanks so much.
