Well, there is a power button on it that depresses.
but there's also a wifi on/off button on the front of it. 2nd from the right. and lights up with an led light.
you can see it in the manual

I have a feeling you pushed the power button and not the wifi on/off button.

The Wifi button on router was in down position which appears to be the on button. I've pushed and held down for 2 seconds and then released which makes it pop up into the off position. Then I pushed back down to turn it back on. It seems to be more like an on/off power button then activating wifi or not.
I did a direct connect to router with Lan cable and logged into it. It says wifi off on main page. On basic page the checkbox for enable wireless router radio is greyed out with a check in it. I went to advanced wifi and enable SSID broadcast is checked in both 2.4 and 5.0. Not sure where I go to see broadcast SSID. Wish I could do screeen shot here.

Too funny. I must have looked at that 6 times. Thought it was just a light. All set.
