I have the AC1900, my internet speed usually runs pretty fast. I have spectrum and usually get about 400 mbps. Over the last few weeks, My internet speed has been awful. I get like 15-25 mbps when...

For someone who seems to want to break down every single line and get me to go into detail, you seem to of missed the point of the question. I could said “how do I change the firmware from a .chk to a .img file so that it would work for downgrading my firmware”, but instead I gave a simple background of the process that lead to why I needed that issues solved. It clearly states what model I have if you look at the description.

No, but, as stated, it made no sense. On the other hand, you seem to
have ignored all my questions.

I see where you wrote "R7000", but I also see where you also wrote
(the ambiguous) "AC1900", so it was not clear that you knew what you
had. It's still not. And, as I wrote:

But thanks for providing no specific answers to any of my pesky
questions.

But you didn't. With my weak psychic powers, I tend to read what I'm
given, not what I might guess that I should have been given.
The firmware image files are the firmware image files. Changing
their names is almost always a mistake. Hence my (fruitless) attempt to
get you to explain what you're actually doing. Your explanation of what
you think is the solution to your problem is of much less interest.
