AC2000 R6850 Wont Connect to Ethernet / AP Mode Fail
So, I've owned this router for at least 1.5 years with no issues. I had it setup previously to act as an AP when it suddenly stopped working. It no longer recognizes any ethernet connection I plug ...
It is connected to an Arris 5168N.

Can you have the LAN connected to the WAN port on the R series router from the ISP modems LAN ports? Try each LAN port on the modem and then try connecting to the LAN port on the R series router to see if you get anything.
Swap out LAN cables for known working cables.

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers

Possible the WAN port and died on the NG router...
