AC2300 Nighthawk R7000p

Must reboot router often.  Spectrum Fiber service.  Strong connection to modem, but router seems to intermittently slow down the speed.  I have read that the router may be overheating?  I reboot from the Nighthawk app and from plug/unplug.  Usually after a reboot the service will resume, but eventually degrades.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

    What is the manufacturer's name and model number of the optical network terminal (ONT) you are connecting the router to?

     

    Is there a chance it is a combination device that is also a router?

     

    Overheating is a possibility.  Do you live in a hot climate?  Is the router stacked on top of other electronic equipment?
