AC2600 will not get past initial log-in screen
I am trying to add this router to a Starlink system. I place the Starlink modem in bypass mode to disable wifi. The netgear has been factory reset. When I go to routerlogin.net I can click on the ...

This will be like the 4th time I am typing the same thing. And why is this post the solution??? It hasn't been solved.
I am hardwired directly to the router from my pc. The only time I tried to use wifi is because Routerlogin.net says it's better to configure your new netgear router with an app on your phone. Turns out it isn't. All the app did was take me, to a browser window on my phone and the same thing that happens on my pc, that is hardwired directly to the router did.
There is a label on the bottom but it is useless. "admin" and "password" are of no help any longer. At some point the firmware on these has changed to no longer use a default password. You have to setup a password on the very first use and if you ever do a factory reset. That is the step I cannot get past. I get an error every time, on multiple browsers, and multiple devices.

A factory reset restores the passwords to the defaults that are on the label.
The firmware does not change these.
If these do not work, then something else is going wrong.
You then get to the GUI. I'm afraid I am not familiar with what "steps" the various setup processes go through.
You should be able to wire into the router from a PC. (With nothing else connected to the PC.) Then you can update the firmware.
Again, if that does not work, something else is going wrong.

You may have been repeating yourself, but that is because it is hard to understand what is going on.
The quick start guide for the R7450 is hopeless. The manual has more useful detail.

Approaching 2 hours on the phone with technical support and we've made exactly zero progress. They wanted me to send it back to Amazon as this is impossible with one of their routers. My reply is obviously not as we have demonstrated for the last 2 hours and I should be compensated for finding a flaw they were unaware of. Sitting on hold while he talks to somebody else. Is it that hard to just send me a new one?

Final update! They were never able to fix it. They instructed me to download the latest firmware to do a manual update. I informed them that step 8 in the instructions require you to log-in, which I cannot do. What a waste of time. Their "engineers" sit and read teleprompts while a rooster is crowing in the background. They refuse to replace the device even though it is less than 90 days that I purchased it and it is supposed to be covered.
I informed them that I will return it, leave a bad review, and never ever purchase another product from Netgear. They do not stand behind their product. They are paying some third world people pennies to read prompts that lead to nowhere.
Thank you to the community members that tried to help. Unfortunately you can't fix this problem and the company doesn't care.
