After access point setup, getting file not found error
Hello all,
I was reconfiguring my system here and decided to start from scratch via a rest.
The modem is fine out the box (CG3000Dv2 N450), I begin setting up the router as an access poi...

I was able to fix it!
I forgot I had the nighthawk app on my phone, so for the heck of it i wanted to see if i could access the setting for the router that way. The app stated i didn't have a router configured, but it found one would i like to set it up, went thru that setup, tried to login the router and it logged in!
Thank you all for your help!

With the R7000 in AP mode, the instructions for accessing its control interface, what Netgear refers to as its GUI, are not those from the manual. That works when it is a router. So routerlogin is a non starter.
You'll need to find the IP address of the R7000. Unless, that is, when setting up AP mode you overrode the recommended setting Get dynamically from existing router.
The IP issued by the modem was the one I listed 198.162.0.2. After I reset the modem, I changed nothing on it except the SSID and pw after doing so.
The CG3000Dv2 is now an ageing device and seems to lack some of the features in newer hardware. Do I see no sign of an "attached devices" page. It is probably in there somewhere. But you might find it easier to use something like the desktop genie to map the network. With luck it supports this modem/router! (The support pages suggest that it does.)
Then you can find the IP address that the CG3000Dv2 has given the R7000 and throw that into the browser.
There is a manual for the cg3000dv2 somewhere at the end of this link:
N450 | Product | Support | NETGEAR
The manual for the R7000 is here:

By the way, with that combination of devices, many users would probably prefer using the R7000 and putting the CG3000Dv2 into modem-only (bridge) mode. But that may be another feature that Netgear added after it shipped your model.
I was having issues with the router and Plex and made a post regarding that. They gave me advice as to how to proceed, Thanks for the added insight. I'll be the first to admit I'm terrible at networking but good with computers otherwise. I normally only post when I've exhausted all other avenues of search or just don't understand.
Thanks for the help!
