Are Nighthawk X6s AC2200 Mesh Extenders truly Mesh Extenders?
I am using a Nighthawk X6 AC4000 (R8000P) router together with 2 Nighthawk X6S AC2200 Extenders (EX7700) in my home. The router is situated on the 1st Floor on a desk and the Extenders downstairs, 1...

I've never tried it with using the wps button. I usually use the installation assistant.
The people who tend to have issues with daisy chain usually have the extenders to close to each other/the router.

They're mesh in that they use a single ssid/function for the network.
problem when you use a mesh extender is that it doesn't have a router controlling it (like orbi) is that you can end up with suboptimal configurations.
Daisy chaining extenders usually isn't a great idea because they can end up connected to each other if they're in the wrong configuration.
Daisy chaining decreases speeds and increases latency. I usually advise people to setup in a star configuration versus daisy chain.
Star: extender<--------router------->extender
daisy: router------>extender------->extender
I've seen it done with daisy chainging extenders and for some its worked great. For others its been issues. Its why I also usually warn people to move to a full mesh system like orbi if they're needing multiple extenders.

Thanks for your answer, which I understand. I think I have them in the star pattern rather than the daisy chain.
If I wanted to try the daisy chain, how would I set that up? Could I do it by pressing the WPS button on each of the Extenders?

Thanks. I'll try and keep mine as far apart as possible.
