Are the the ethernet port lights supposed to be red when connected?

I have my pc connected through ethernet cable is the port light supposed to be red? The rest of the lights are white.

    The color of the light indicates the connection speed.  White represents Gigabit and amber represents either 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps.

     

    If your PC has a Gigabit Ethernet port, then you should verify that it's set to Gigabit mode.  Else, check your Ethernet cable or try a different router port.

     

    I've had a Ethernet cable that would only connect at 100 Mbps.
