Assistance with Home network hardwired setup

I recently purchased a home that is wired with
network jacks in all rooms. All wires have been
pulled into the basement. I would like to set up a
wired home network to take advantage of these
jacks but have no networking knowledge. Can you
recommend what I would need to set up a wired
home network myself or if it would be better to have
someone come out to do it.. Two floors 3000 sqft
home.
Currently have Xfinity router/modem combo
would also need to improve wifi in home.
I appreciate any recommendations.

    Its not to complicated.

You can either connect all the wires in the basement to a patch panel (what I'd recommend) or you can run them all directly to a switch.

Its kind of up to you how you'd like to do it. I like the patch panel option for some reason. I have mine ran to a patch panel and then to a 24 port gigabit switch.

I've even setup a small server there to manage all media/backup options for my home.

I also put a Orbi router there with satellites scattered around my home to provide wireless using the wired backhaul.

Gives you great wireless speeds and works well.

My coax is also ran there so the modem/router are all located right there. A nice little utility/server setup.
