Bought a NETGEAR router, and now my internet speed has slowed down almost to a halt.
I realized that my old router wasn't doing too well, so I replaced it with a new one. For whatever reason, since I installed it, my internet has been super slow.
I tried plugging my computer straight into the modem, and I was getting 50+ up, and also good rates down.
I plugged the router back in, and my internet is crawling. I did a speed test earlier, and it was showing sub 1 down. I tried messing with the router settings via the web portal, but nothing seems to be working.
I live in a tiny apartment, so distance should not be an issue. I messed around with the different channels, but nothing seems to be working.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Some actual details might help.
1. what router did you buy?
2. what firmware is on it?
3. what modem/gateway is it connected to?
4. what devices and service are you using for speedtesting?

- Did you reset the modem before you connected the new router?
- Did you reboot the network in the required order?
