c3700v2 Wol synology Nas doesn't work

Good morning,

I have a C3700v2 Netgear and a Synology Nas connected to them. The problem is Wake On Lan doesn't work through internet.

-The Nas is configured with WOL setting

-WOL works if I'm in the wifi at home, using "WakeOnLan - Magic package"

-I tried to configure port forwarding using:

External Starting Port field, port 9

 protocol :TCP/UDP

Server IP Address: 192.168.0.14.

Wake On Lan Works only when I'm in the range of WIFI.

Thanks

Gian Luca

Have you checked with synology for specific settings they require?

That'd be where you want to start with how to setup the NAS to wake up with an internet based command and not a LAN based command.

WOL literally means wake on LAN (local area network). Not wake on WAN.

You might contact Synology for additional help and support regarding there product and WoL to ensure the configuration is correct for there product.

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Cable Modem products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Cable modems and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this router forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Please use this link to the main forum product list to review and choose where to make your posts.
