C7100v incompatibility w/remote outlet switch

I want to use a remote outlet switch In order to switch my router off at night using a remote.

But my c7100v appears to only be wanting to plug directly into the wall and not into the remote outlet switch or even a new power strip.

I am using a ZAP1L by ETEKCITY outlet.

Is there a workaround?

Why?  Is there some actual problem which you are trying to solve?

How, exactly, did the C7100V communicate its apparent desires to you?
    Morse code?  Telepathy?

Start again.  Forget about what you think the C7100V appears to want.
Describe what you did, and what happened when you did it.  Reality, in
    other words.

       Thanks for the helpful link.

I sold my Morse code machine before all this and my telepathy powers are sh!t, so…

Reasons: to reduce magnetic fields in my bedroom (no, I cannot put it anywhere else.) To darken bedroom at night. To save electricity. The small risk of fire. To save wear and tear on box. Mostly, the first three.

Did the logical switching between outlets of which none are faulty.

The point is moot now as a friend tried hers, a different manufacturer’s, and it worked fine.

      The Zap is going back.

      Peace out.
