Can Nighthawk router interfere with voice control feature of Xfinity Flexbox?

I was not able to pair my Xfinity Flexbox with voice remote control on a TV that is in the room where the Nighthawk is located.  An Xfinity tech person came to my house and tried 4 different Flexboxes with no luck, but then was able to pair it using a TV in another room of the house.  Once paired, we moved it back to the original TV in the Nighthawk room and it worked fine at first.  Shortly thereafter, the voice control feature stopped working (otherwise the remote still worked).  New batteries did not help.  Xfinity sent me a new remote, but no luck.  I could pair it in the other room and the voice feature works fine, but in the Nighthawk room the remote works but not the voice feature.  There is an Amazon Alexa right near the Nighthawk, and that voice control works perfectly.  Other electronics in the room are a computer with a Netgear modem, a wifi printer (that is usually not powered on), and an AT&T microcell for cell phone reception.  I tried unplugging the microcell and the Alexa to see if those were the culprits, but it had no effect on the failure of the Flexbox voice feature.  I was wondering if the Nighthawk is causing interference with the Flexbox voice control, and if there is a solution.

You would have to find out how the remote communicates with the box to see if it's a 2.4ghz connection. You could try changing the wireless channel of the 2.4ghz network in the Advanced wireless settings on the router and then see if the remote starts working.

      Hi DarrenM,

Thank you for that suggestion, it worked!   For anyone else who tries this: the first channel change did not work, but I tried changing to yet another channel, and had success.  Also, I did a quick google search to find out how to change the channel, and it was easy.

I spoke too soon, the voice control worked once time and then stopped working.  I tried changing the 2.4Ghz channel one more time, but voice control still did not work.  Then I saw that the flexbox was using the 2.4Ghz wifi, and the other voice control device (Amazon Alexa) was using 5Ghz, so I changed the flexbox wifi connection to the 5Ghz network (had to go to another room that has a TV in it to do this).  Before moving back to the room with the router, I checked to be sure that voice control on the remote worked in the other room.  When I moved back to my main TV room, no dice.  The remote works but not the voice control feature.  I welcome any other ideas!  Thanks, Roz
