Can someone help an idiot like me enable (or forward?) a Helium hotspot to port 44158?

That's hard to say. Someone who knew to what you were referring
might.
Are you following some set of instructions which someone else might
be able to read, too?
Is there some Netgear device (router?) involved? Has it a model
number? Look for "Model" on the product label. Firmware version?
Connected to what?
Any useful information at all might help.

Hi thanks,
R8000 router with Helium hotspot connected by ethernet. Helium network says my data is being relayed through another hotspot and i need to open (?) port 44158
Am I in the right place? I have the server ip and internal ips...
enter 44158 in external start and internal start ports?

Ensure you have your Helium hotspot has a dedicated IP otherwise your router will always change the IP if you have your router set for DHCP. You can assign your Helium hotspot an IP, then when you forward port 44158, assign it to your Helium hotspot. It worked for me with my Helium miner.
