cannot access router login to do update
When I go to router login, I cannot access it - Error message says I am not connected to my router's WiFi network. This makes no sense to me as I am using a hardwired PC to try to install updates. Ha...
Thanks for the replies, I managed to fix the problem with my phone after a convoluted series of steps that I can't remember, then I was locked out of this community forum for some technical glitch type reason, so didn't bother to try and fix that til now, so thanks again.....

Access the router via the IP address(192.168.1.1).
I am not able to log in to 192.168.1.1 either. I receive a box: Authentication Required http://192.168.1.1 requires a username and password. Your connection to this site is not secure. What is next step?
Have you tried a reset on the router and are you using Genie I have seen postings about Genie and router login issues before.

Ignore the warning, and log in anyway? This connection is between
your (unspecified) Web browser on your (unspecified) computer and your
own router. There's no real risk of any stranger in the outside world
intercepting your credentials (unless someone is looking over your
shoulder).You have to log in to your netgear account to download the Firmware. I am not able to log in as my password is not recognized.
I do not have/use Genie.
I still cannot log in. I have reset my router. I have tried logging in using the 192.168.1.1 and continue to receive the Authentication Required box. I enter my user name and have tried both previous passwords but am unable to log in. Help please.
