Well, I have spoken via chat with 3 techs from Comcast. All say the same thing, that everything looks fine from their end. So I went to Comcast yesterday to pick up one of their modems. Guess what, the tech at the store says that my plan only provides 100 mbs. I have two accounts that are linked. One is a vacation property where I am having the issue. Apparently the sales person (via chat) upgraded my home account to 800 mbs. Then each of the tech support people looked at the home account and said things were fine. Yes, I told them I was working on the 2nd account. I even scheduled a service tech to come out in case I couldn't get things working. You guessed it - they scheduled the service tech to go to my home account. No one other than the guy at the retail store seemed to recogize that there were two accounts. So, I had him upgrade the 2nd account to 800 mbs and things look great. I'm getting around 700 mbs which is a huge improvement for me.
Sorry for taking everyone's time. On the plus side, after seeing the errors in the log, I went out to the box and there were several splitters that I was able to remove. Now I'm down to one line in - going directly to the modem - eliminating any other potential bottlenecks or points of failure.
