Can't rollback to the most recent factory firmware after rolling back from DD-WRT on Netgear R7000
I'm trying to update the firmware on my old Netgear R7000. I initially tried flashing it with the latest DD-WRT beta release (2024), but I wasn't satisfied with it. I decided to revert to the f...

You may need to update stock FW from initial to something in the middle of the versions that are available first before going to most current version of FW.
Any 3rd party FW support information will need to be asked over on there support forums.

Thank you for your reply and time. Maybe I haven't expressed myself clearly, but that is exactly what I did.
I was on DD-WRT latest Beta branch for R7000, then rolled back to initial release of stock firmware and then gradually flahsed as follows:
1.0.3.24
⏬
1.0.3.56
⏬
1.0.3.60
⏬
1.0.3.68
⏬
1.0.3.80
⏬
1.0.4.18
⏬
1.0.4.28
⏬
1.0.4.30
⏬
1.0.5.64
⏬
1.0.5.70
❌⏬❌ (Anything more recent from these point and R7000 is unresponsive, Unindentified Network/Connected-Disconnected-Loop/No reaction on 8 or 30 second hard reset)
1.0.7.2

If you have installed DD-WRT, you'll need to ask there.
If you have installed NG Stock FW, then here.
You'll need to try some of the stock FW versions here to see if you can graduate updating the router then go to most current version:

I successfully installed DD-WRT on my R7000 router yes, but later on I reverted to the original Netgear stock firmware. Therefore, my current issue is unrelated to DD-WRT, as it doesn't modify the CFE.
Currently, I'm running the initial NG stock firmware. However, I'm unable to update to any firmware version beyond V1.0.7.10.1.2.3. Attempting to do so results in an "Unidentified Connection" error, preventing me from accessing the router's GUI.
Since my R7000 is intended for the Chinese market, I attempted to update using the Chinese firmware branch. I started by flashing the earliest version, "V1.0.2.200_1.0.18PR," and gradually upgrading through the R7000 GUI to V1.0.7.10.1.2.3, following the instructions found at: http://support.netgear.cn/doucument/More.asp?id=2251
Unfortunately, the same issue persists. Any attempt to install a firmware version later than V1.0.7.10.1.2.3 leads to the "Unidentified Connection" error, making the router's GUI inaccessible.
