Captive apple portal, PS4 connection issues

att tends to use modem/router combo devices.
it creates a double nat when you use your own router with it.

options? (only use 1)
1.Put the att device in modem only/passthrough mode. Doesn't always go well.
2. put the netgears IP address into the ATT devices dmz.
3. put the netgear into access point mode.
Now when I try and log into the router It won’t let me sign in. I reset the password go through all the steps “ it says password reset successfully” hit the log in button and nothing all I get is a 🔒 with a line through it. Any thoughts?
Try a different pc/laptop?
Try a different browser?
Maybe reset the router? (push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds)
