Configure a router with DD-WRT as a repeater
Have a CAX80 in one house and C7000 in another. Could you tell me if Netgear modem/router combos will work with a Netgear DD-WRT router. I want to extend my wifi range with a DD-WRT router as a rep...

Neither the CAX80 or the C7000 that you have has an option for ddwrt.
You can gimmick the C7000 into working as an access point if you're so inclined. Itd need to be hardwired in (connected via ethernet) antinode has worked out a way to make it function as such. see here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Cable-Modems-Routers/Can-I-use-a-C6300-cable-modem-without-cable-internet/m-p/1463500

Treating that as a question, I'd say that it'd be a good question for
a DD-WRT forum. (Where "Netgear DD-WRT router" might not be considered
a very detailed description of either the hardware of the firmware.)
I doubt that these "Netgear modem/router combos" would care what you
use as an accessory, if that accessory works with any similarly capable
router.
