connect a nighthawk to mesh

Either of those routers should be able to cover 1600 sqft if its a standard setup.
What is your interior walls made of? And floors?
Certain materials block wifi very well.
Moving to a mesh system might help but its first a good idea to determine why your signal is bad.
Maybe getting a powerline device or moca adapter (ethernet over coax) might be a better option for setting up multiple access points that just buying mesh.

We get signal upstairs, but it stops off in spots. The router is a three back of the house, and signal strength is low on the 2nd floor at the front of the house. Several years ago, when the founder optic was installed, it was good. Over time it's slowed.
I was thinking about changing to my AX8 router and buying the AX6000 range extender. Thoughts?
