connectivity to fiber optic network provider (Kinetic)
DO I NEED A MODEM TO CONNECT MY NIGHTHAWK AC2600, MODEL R7450 TO A FIBER OPTIC NETWORK PROVIDER (KINETIC), OR CAN I SIMPLY PLUG IN TO THE WAN PORT ON THE REAR OF THE UNIT?

Turn off the all caps please. No need to shout!
Before you can get much of an answer, you will need to provide the brand name and model number of your "unit". Look on the label of the "unit". Often referred to as an ONT (Optical Network Terminal).
What sockets come out of the box that delivers your Internet?
Is it a standard LAN port?
How many are there?
Does it also provide wifi.
If there is just one port and no wifi, it could sell be a basic device that will happily feed a router.
Of course, you could always ask your Internet service provider what it expects you to use. It might even have a list of hardware known to work on its network.
