Constant high pitched sound coming from CM500

I've had my modem for nearly two years now. It's been fine. For the past few months I've started noticing an extremely high pitched sound. I ignored it for a bit, but it's gotten loud enough now to give me a headache when I don't play music to drown it out.

So far I've unplugged (sound immediately stopped) and replugged (sound started again after ~5 seconds), and also reset (sound never stopped).

Anybody know of a fix? Weirdly, I couldn't find anyone online experiencing the same issue with this device. Would rather not have to buy another device but I can't deal with this sound anymore :smileyfrustrated:

Thank you!

If you listen closely, is it coming from the power supply or the modem?

        Most likely capacitor noise.

Those are pretty generic power supplies. You might even have a matching one sitting around somewhere.

Just make sure it has the same volatage and polarity. It can have higher amperage, just not less.

Or use it it until it breaks.

or you can buy pretty cheap aftermarket power supplies.
