Create LAB network for Active Directory training servers.
Is it possible or what might be the simplest Netgear product or feature that might allow me to build an isolated network so any of my (training) server traffic will not make it onto my corporate network. Our corporate network is 10.0.10.xxx with class C subnetting. I would like to make like a 10.0.70.xxx network also with class C subnetting so it is a different network.
So we have an R7000P Nighthawk with available Lan ports, can I pull off of that corporate WiFi router and set an IP for one of the free ports to be something like 10.0.10.101 and then run that wire to a new Netgear router (need recommendation) and call the other end of that cable 10.0.10.102 which this end will become my new WAN port, then with the Netgear router that I will purchase I can route that to a 10.0.70.100 on the other side. I am sure I will have to make sure ports are forwarded and there will be no firewall issues etc. but I just need to know if it is possible to simple nest another Nighthawk router under the first main one. I hope I am explaining this right. Since my lab will contain a second DNS, DHCP, capable server, I don't want a packet from my test network to clobber my main network. The overall thing here I need is simply Internet access but staying off the main network. Thanks in advance for any recommendations or critiques. I tried like heck to see if there was a sales technician that could help but all the style of help seems to be cut off unless you own that particular product.
