D7000- Can I use this model as a "regular" modem without DSL? I'm switching to a wireless system

I bought this router when I was on DSL.  I'm moving to a wireless system.  Can I still use this router or is it only for DSL?  Thank you

Not a very detailed description of anything.

As the D7000 User Manual explains:

The modem router is compatible with most major DSL Internet
service providers and also supports cable or fiber Internet
          service.

In other words, it can be used as a plain-old wireless router (not a
"modem"), much like an R7000, for example.  Whether that would be useful
with your new "wireless system" may depend on many things, all of which
are beyond my ken.  For example, what sort of equipment your
(unspecified) "wireless system" provider supplies or requires.
