Thanks for the prompt response.

OK, slack use of terminology - file explorer. Couldn't see the D7000 under the 'Network' tab

>When you do what, exactly? As the "file explorer" couldn't detect the D7000 the subsequent USB shares also unable to be located. On the D7000 the USBs are given the '\\readyshare\<device_name>' as a path. This is also not accessible - not found. No error messages other than unable to connect.
Able to ping the AP OK, also access admin pages.
Since posting found another thread relating to Netgear using SMBv1 and needing to ensure that this feature was fully enabled. This I have done and appears to have resolved the issue.
Apologies for poor description of situation - spent most of yesterday with WD trying to resolve why NAS keeps dropping off local network. C'est la vie.
Thanks again.

What does "computer browser" mean to you? Web browser? Windows File
Explorer? If web browser, then where did you expect to find it? When
configured as an AP, it will have its own IP address, which could be
almost anything (on your router's subnet).

When you do what, exactly? "can't" is not a useful problem
description. It does not say what you did. It does not say what
happened when you did it. As usual, showing actual actions with their
actual results (error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful
than vague descriptions or interpretations.

You could start by explaining exactly what you're doing, and what
happens when you do it. What you think it all means is of much less
interest.

As the "file explorer" couldn't detect the D7000 the subsequent USB shares also unable to be located. On the D7000 the USBs are given the '\\readyshare\<device_name>' as a path. This is also not accessible - not found. No error messages other than unable to connect.

Can't take credit for solution - tried to find the original solution posted in 2017 which also included adding a Netgear executable to the system32 folder. This acts like a 'net use' function for the Netgear range.
However, fully enabling the SMBv1 protocol has resolved my issues.
Also noted that my My Cloud Mirror hasn't dropped off my Network since making the change. The change resolving other issues with other network devices.
Thanks again for the response. Hope my comments help others. Cheers
