D7000 not showing on local network, nor is attached USB storage

    OK, slack use of terminology - file explorer.  Couldn't see the D7000 under the 'Network' tab

    As the "file explorer"  couldn't detect the D7000 the subsequent USB shares also unable to be located.  On the D7000 the USBs are given the '\\readyshare\<device_name>' as a path.  This is also not accessible - not found.  No error messages other than unable to connect.

     

    Able to ping the AP OK, also access admin pages.

     

    Since posting found another thread relating to Netgear using SMBv1  and needing to ensure that this feature was fully enabled.  This I have done and appears to have resolved the issue. 

     

    Apologies for poor description of situation - spent most of yesterday with WD trying to resolve why NAS keeps dropping off local network. C'est la vie.
