Dell Laptop connects to wifi on router but says no internet

All other devices are connected to wifi and internet works fine.

new device dell laptop connects to wifi but says says no internet and a browser launches with message saying the wifi you are using may require you to visit its login page (there is no login page).  browser web page is www.spectrum.net/support/internet/dns-upgrade-notification

I check the properties on the wifi connection:  Protocol WiFi 4 (802.11n),  it provides all IPv4 address information including IPv4 DNS servers.  The DNS servers are different that my other laptop that works fine.

I have a VPN connection and if I launch that I get internet access.  If I disconnect the VPN the regular  wifi connection should pick up the internet connection but it does not.

It has to be something on the new laptop device just not sure what I change.

Any help would be appreciated

  • Hello there,

I am also facing similar probem with my laptop while playing slots free chips. But I have solved this problem. When You have coonected router with laptop then Internet have connected but on Internet connection it will show no internet connection sign. It is happened due to slow speed of laptop. So with increaing the speed of the laptop you wil overcome this problem.

what modem/gateway are you connecting the router to?

    Have you enabled IPv6?

Windows is great at protecting us from nasty things. Sadly, that sometimes comes down to blocking the Internet.

It always helps to run the Network Troubleshooter in Windows.
