Did my r7000 brick overnight?
We woke up to find all of our smart devices non-responsive. Here's the details I currently have on the issue:
-router has been setup as an AP, with DHCP auto addressing
-my router (OPNsense) shows the DHCP lease for the device, lists IP (eg. 192.168.1.13)
-I can ping the device at 192.168.1.13
Troubleshooting
-during power up, with no other devices connected, I see the usual breif flashes of 8 or so lights. After about 15 sec, the power LED lights steady orange. This lasts about 90 sec. Then light changes to solid white.
-I've attempted to reset the router to factory defaults, but see no response from the router no matter how long I hold the button. I do feel the affirmative click when pressing. I have also tried the 30-30-30 timing suggested elsewhere.
-I can tell that the device remains in AP mode, because connecting to the typical LAN port does not provide DHCP resolution or response to pings. When I connect via the WAN port, the device again appears in DHCP leases of my router and responds to pings at 192.168.1.13
-I've attempted to transfer the latest firmware via TFTP, with the following command:
tftp -192.168.1.13 put R7000-Vblahblah.chk
which returns:
tftp: don't know host '-10.0.12.13'
I'm starting to get the feeling that this guy is bricked, but I thought I'd pick some brains here first. This router's getting kinda old, so I won't be too heartbroken. But I do generally like to use things until they break, where possible.
Any thoughts?
