Does WD Mypassport Ultra compatible with Nighthawk69??

sorry for posting the wrong Router model.
the correct one is Night Hawk R7960P
for now, per my last post, the 1TB my passport is showing at the available network folders but on the Very bottom left under the share name it says Not shared, Please see attached.
any usb flash storage I connect to the router it shows automatically and accessible with not problem.
you have mentioned ((Have you set the drive up for Ready SHARE in the browser graphical user interface (GUI)))
what set up you are referring to please.
the 4TB mentioned at the end of your email is promising, for example can it get the 4TB and connect it to the router and get another 4TB to back up the 1st one??

That's bigger than anything I have seen as known to work.
I have a 4 TB WD Elements desktop drive. And last week I added a 4 TB WD Elements portable drive. Both are fine in Ready SHARE.

I am planning for the My Book 4TB, This one also does not have the option to link for another HD!!
any way to have the two HDs linked to the same router, without going for My cloud hard drives?
I know that the WD my cloud always has an extra usb for another HD but the problem is the data is NOT accessible in case of network failure.

There is nothing in there to suggest that one USB drive is connected to the other USB drive.
I have one 4 TB drive on one router and a second 4 TB drive on a different router.

I don't understand that. Network failure will always disconnect everything.
Ok, since No daisy chain option with the element, how about getting HD1 WD my cloud 2TB and Daisy chain it to HD2 another 2TB Element
and using a backup software to copy my cloud HD 1 to the HD 2
in this case all data is accessible if network not availabe.

also yesterday, I noticed at the router interface, a blue message suggesting updating the firm ware, so i tried tow times
at the download screen it show two versions available:
it shows VER R7960P-V1.4.1.66_1.3.26
and VER R7960P-V1.4.1.68_1.3.28 are both available, so I attempted to install, router downloaded new firmware, and installed it and restarted, but at the end still showing the OLD VER ont top left.
I downloaded from the website support, and did browsed to the folder and clicked on it, same thing happened, after router restarting, it still showing the old version on top right.!!
